Soccer Graeme Souness tears into Jesse Lingard & Dele Alli after Croatia - The England World Cup post-mortem So why arent England in the World Cup final? Croatia beat England in extra-time in the semi-final in Moscow on Wednesday. Kieran Trippier opened for England while a second half Ivan Perisic goal brought Croatia level. Mario Mandzukic won the match in the 109th minute. On BeIN Sport after the match Graeme Souness took the opportunity to slam England. Jesse Lingard & Dele Alli Souness the former Liverpool and Scotland midfielder had some choice words for Man Uniteds Jesse Lingard and Tottenhams Dele Alli after the game. I want to emphasise the midfield. You cant win the big trophies you cant dominate football matches you cant put yourself in a position where you are not giving the ball away unless youve got good players in midfield who can keep the ball. I come back to Lingard and Dele Alli two players who want to get on the end of things after there has been clever play by somebody else. They dont want to get involved in keeping the ball and dominating possession. They want to be involved in scoring the goals and getting on the end of things. The Man United and Tottenham midfielders both scored once in Russia this summer. Graeme Souness v @SteffenFreund! On ITV Irelands Roy Keane also laid into England after the semi-final defeat. Aiming his comments towards Ian Wright Keane vented: You were planning the final where the parades were. You need a reality check. Just take it one game as it comes. Take it a game at a time. Youve no idea what its like to get to a finals or even get to a World Cup. Youve never been to a World Cup finals. Why cant we be excited Roy? Why cant we be happy? We loved every minute of it! pic.twitter.com/F5rNH6wcHu Ian Wright (@IanWright0) July 11 2018 Also see: Liverpools Dejan Lovren: Im one of the best defenders in the world.
