Soccer La Liga president Tebas claims Real Madrid wont pay big money for Neymar - Money La Liga president Javier Tebas has claimed Real Madrid might be interested in Neymar but that they would not pay 400 million euros to land him from PSG. Neymar has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid after leaving Barcelona to go to PSG and feeling like Ligue 1 is not going to be competitive enough for him and it seems that Real Madrid would be close to being able to afford him on their revenue alone. Real Madrid arent going to pay the 400 million euros needed for Neymar Marca note he explained. However the numbers that they generate can put them close to being able to undertake such a signing. Of course before they land a new player this summer Real Madrid are going to have to get a manager in to replace Zidane who shocked world football when he quit this summer after winning a third Champions League in two and a half seasons at the Spanish club. (Photo by David Ramos/Getty Images) VAR Tebas also spoke about VAR and noted that the league have watched other countries in their quest to make the video technology work and said that theyre willing to try it in pre-season and that there will be a focus on communicating which is an issue at the minute. Weve realised that one of the mistakes other countries have made with VAR is the lack of communication. There hasnt been any communication with players coaches referees or journalists but weve already gone to the clubs to explain the system in depth. During pre-season well do so for a second time. Jesus cant be Manchester City saviour says Guardiola Manchester (United Kingdom) (AFP) Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola warned against expecting too much from new arrival Gabriel Jesus after he made an eye-catching debut in their 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur. Substitute Jesus a 27 million ($33 million 31 million euros) acquisition from Palmeiras twice went close to giving City victory heading narrowly over and seeing a goal ruled out for offside. But having seen his side squander a succession of chances and then blow a 2-0 lead Guardiola said the 19-year-old Brazil starlet would not be able to solve Citys problems singlehandedly. He has his talent but alone (he) cannot do that. So we have to involve (him) a lot Guardiola told reporters at the Etihad Stadium. If it was one day today I would tell you. But it was all the season. We have to score goals and we are not able to do that. We try to create we create but we dont score goals and when that happens its impossible to win the games. Its impossible. City went into the game on the back of a 4-0 drubbing at Everton while Spurs were chasing a seventh successive league win but it wasthe home side who looked like the team in form. After battering Spurs in the first half they went 2-0 up early in the second half courtesy of a pair of blunders by visiting goalkeeper Hugo Lloris that allowed Leroy Sane and Kevin De Bruyne to score. But Dele Alli reduced the arrears and after Kyle Walker had escaped punishment for a penalty-box shove on City forward Raheem Sterling substitute Son Heung-Min swept in a 77th-minute equaliser. Walker conceded in a television interview that he had pushed Sterling in an attempt to destabilise his England colleague as he shot. Guardiola said his teams wastefulness had been the main reason for their undoing but he suggested he would ask referees chief Mike Riley for clarification on the rules. The rules here are the rules so maybe Mike Riley one day is going to explain to me when its a push here or here or here he said. Still I dont understand. Lloris defended City remain fifth nine points adrift of leaders Chelsea and while Spurs held onto second place they will be leapfrogged by Arsenal if their neighbours beat Burnley on Sunday. Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino conceded City had been the better team but he argued their first goal could have been ruled out for handball by Sane. Lloriss headed clearance struck Sane allowing the German winger to tap into an empty net before the France goalkeepers clumsy attempt to gather Sterlings cross gifted De Bruyne the second goal. Pochettino backed his goalkeeper saying: I think he kept us in the game in the first half. He played very well in the first half one or two big saves. Its not changed my opinion of him. For me hes one of the best keepers. Pochettino was also able to offer an upbeat assessment of a hamstring problem that obliged centre-back Toby Alderweireld to go off in the second half. Pochettino has already lost Jan Vertonghen for around six weeks with ankle ligament damage but he is confident Alderweirelds injury is not as serious. It doesnt look bad said the Spurs manager. We dont know if it was injury or a precaution that he decided to go off. He felt tight in his hamstring but Toby now when we are talking a little bit it doesnt look bad. Both teams are in FA Cup action next weekend before returning to league action the following mid-week City at West Ham United Spurs at Sunderland. Guardiola was quoted as having conceded defeat in the title race after his sides thumping at Everton but he refuted that suggestion. I didnt say that he said. They said wed been ruled out of fighting for the trophy but Im never going to give up never. Soccer David De Gea explains he could be banned from Man Uniteds dressing room - David De Gea has joked about his place in the Man United dressing room and noted his music tastes are not quite what other players like yet he tries to get them to listen to his music anyway. The goalkeeper is a well known heavy metal advocate and it seems that he thinks one day he might even get banned from the dressing room because of his tastes. It was a very tongue in cheek comment and he noted that other players prefer hip-hop. I always put my music on he told Copa 90. It is true that they might ban me from the dressing room one day. I get a lot of criticism about my music but I always try and play them good music. They like to play different kinds of music but I always play them a bit of mine. I like metal and rock bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Metallica. When I put it on in the dressing room everyone moans! Most of the other players are into hip-hop.
